Publish Date : 08-Mar-2016

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) has accomplished the contract granting process for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) job involving cross-country onshore pipeline in Greece and Albania, which will be covering a distance of about 760km.

The construction of the TAP will involve five sections, of which three will be in Greece and the rest in Albania.

The joint venture, consisting of Bonatti S.p.A (Italy) and J&P AVAX S.A (Greece), has secured the EPC contract for a lot pair in the northern Greek region. The sections comprising about 360km of pipeline will run from Kavala to Ieropigi (Albanian border).

SPIECAPAG has won the EPC contract for a 185km lot in Greece on the Kipoi Kavala corridor, plus a lot pair in Albania between Bilisht and Topoje with an overall distance of 215km.

According to the plans, selected mobilization of the EPC contractors will be carried out in the second quarter of 2016.

It is expected that the construction work on the project will be started from middle of this year.

The TAP Managing Director Ian Bradshaw stated, The contracts for the construction of our pipelines onshore section are the largest that TAP will award. I want to congratulate Bonatti S.p.A, J&P AVAX S.A and SPIECAPAG for submitting bids that are not only technically robust and competitive but also in line with the highest standards and industry best practice.
