India : KARNATAKA awarded large chunks of solar power capacity to HERO FUTURE ENERGIES & RENEW POWER

The Government of Karnataka has awarded a significant amount of solar energy capacity to Hero Future Energies and ReNew Power as part of its tender for granting new solar power capacity of 1,200MW.

The two players have equally secured 260MW of projects, becoming major winners under the State Governments tender for awarding solar power capacity.

Hero Future Energies, presenting tariffs from Rs 4.69 to Rs 4.86 per kWh, has bagged bids of 20MW each covering nine talukas. The company has tendered the lowest winning price offer in the whole auction process at Rs 4.69 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for the Gangavati, Chikkanayakanhalli, Koratagere and Madhugiri talukas in Karnataka.

Similarly, ReNew Power has also secured 20MW bids across nine other talukas via offering prices amid Rs 4.76 to Rs 5.05 per kWh.
