Tehran will be receiving an equivalent of $10 million in grants from Tokyo to buy medical equipment from Japanese manufacturers.
On Saturday, a deal was signed by Irans acting health chief Mohsen Asadi-Lari and Japans ambassador to Iran Hiroyasu Kobayashi, as per which Tehran will purchase medical equipment from Japan through tenders and other channels.
Following years of seclusion caused by international sanctions, Irans medical services reportedly deteriorated. In return for its aid, Japan expects to get a foothold in the lucrative Iranian market.
