Australia,New Zealand : FINE ENTRY MARINE seals a $8m vessel deal amid sluggish economic scenario in the region
Publish Date : 18-Mar-2016
Fine Entry Marine, a shipbuilding company at Geraldton in Western Australia, has been successful to secure a contract to construct a 24-metre vessel with a price tag of $8 million.
The Geraldton-based shipbuilder has received the order to build the new police boat for Tasmania, which it termed as a victory for the Mid West region of Western Australia.
Fine Entry Marine has won the new vessel contract via participating in a tender procedure initiated by the Government in last September.
The Government opened the tender process to procure a new boat for the replacement of its struggling PV Fortescue.
According to the shipbuilders official Tim Brown, Fine Entry has secured the contract while several of the business entities in the region are facing challenges to get work.
He added, "It is huge for the region, its even bigger for us really to secure such a contract.
Brown further said, "Its great to get something from over east, from interstate, back in our region where it should be."
