Australia : Winning Government Business Tendering Master Class

Publish Date : 23-Mar-2016

The Liberal Hodgman Government is committed to supporting Tasmanian businesses by providing a program to help local businesses win Government tenders.

With 36 000 small businesses in Tasmania, they are the engine room of the economy and the backbone of the community, employing over 100 000 Tasmanians. Tasmanian Small Businesses bring numerous financial and community benefits to the state across a wide range of industries.

The Liberal Government is delivering on its election commitment of providing $200,000 to develop and provide a four year comprehensive Winning Government Business Program. This will improve the chances for Tasmanian Businesses to access Government contracts.

The Winning Government Business program will assist businesses to increase their chances of winning Government work.

The Winning Government Business Program is designed to:
inform participants about the tendering and procurement processes, help businesses find out about upcoming tendering opportunities, assist businesses to interpret offers and tender documents and help participants to prepare a tender proposal.

In addition to the Tendering Master Classes, Advanced Master Classes are planned for later in 2016. Businesses can express their interest to attend on the Business Tasmania website, www.business.tas.gov.au.

To date, almost 390 attendees have benefited from the program, and the Government hopes that many more Tasmanian Businesses will benefit from this program.
