China,Nepal : Kathmandu Metropolitan City's plan to bring e-buses from China witness setback
Publish Date : 01-Apr-2016
Plan of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to procure e-buses from China has witnessed a setback.
According to Shiva Adhikari, the chief at the Public-Private Partnership Section of the KMC, works related to procurement of e-buses could not move ahead as the government did not pay attention to the matter.
He said representatives of a Chinese automobile company, CRRCT have already submitted a road assessment report for bringing the e-buses to the Kathmandu Valley.
Although the KMC is preparing to bring the e-buses, it has been delayed as the government has made no response, he said.
The Chinese government will be offering 20 e-buses in grant.
An e-bus has capacity to travel 200 kilometres once its battery is fully charged for two hours.
