Bulgaria is seeking to develop a video surveillance system at its border with Serbia to prevent a possible rise in outbound crossing by irregular migrants.

The new system would feature two or three observation posts situated near the Bulgarian border town of Dragoman.

It would be alike to the video surveillance system constructed between Lesovo and Malko Tarnovo, on Bulgarias border with Turkey at a value of around EUR 16.6 M to curb the flow of irregular migrants and refugees.

The procurement tender for the new video surveillance system would be called most probably in early 2017.
