Slovenia : Koper-Divaca 2nd rail track wins construction license

Publish Date : 05-Apr-2016

Slovenia's Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning has granted a construction license to build the second railway track between the port of Koper and Divaca.

Preparatory works would start in 2016.

The Ministry of Infrastructure filed for a construction license, in December last year.

Issued on Friday, the document, holds the validity of 3 years, with the option of extending it twice for a year.

The minister said early preparatory works on the route (arranging access paths, preparing dumping grounds, relocating communal infrastructure) would start this year, while the tender for construction firms interested in building the so-called "second railway track" could be released by end of next year.
