Ukraine,United States : US to provide $4M for consulting services to revive UKRAINIAN customs

The Ukrainian Finance Ministry said, the U.S. ministry has allocated $4 million for consulting services to amend the Ukrainian customs.

Minister of Finance Natalie Jaresko said, "We believe that the involvement of international advisers with impeccable reputation and extensive experience in managing and reforming customs offices in other countries will help us dramatically increase the level of honesty of customs staff in Ukraine."

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk instructed raising the holding of a tender to choose consulting firms for an experiment to amend 4 Ukrainian customs offices.

Jaresko said that the ministry lures 2 donors, one of whom is from the United States, to fund experiment of Ukrainian customs management.

The minister also said that deals with these firms might be inked in May, and she expects that consultant firms might be there at customs offices in a month or a month and a half.
