Tokyo Gas and Kansai Electric Power have been considering strategic cooperation making use of both strengths in various fields such as LNG procurement, power plant operation, developing new power plants and joint investment into overseas business, etc.

Today, we have agreed to the cooperation to improve flexibility in LNG procurement and the technology alliance for power plant operation and maintenance.

We have been cooperating with each other to import LNG such as Pluto LNG project in Australia. Today we have agreed to the framework of exchanging each others LNG to optimize the delivery timing including new LNG procurement (Cove Point LNG) from 2017.

We share original know-hows for developing personnel skills for the power plant operation and maintenance in order to enhance our operation safety and efficiency.

We are going to push forward discussion in a wide range of fields to realize stable and affordable energy supply in the future.
