United States : CSC signs three-year contract with Transport for NSW
Publish Date : 21-Apr-2016
CSC announced today it has signed a three-year contract with Transport for NSW to provide network managed services across the departments 1,200 sites including administration offices, motor registries, roadside depots and railway stations. The agreement, valued at more than AUD$100 million, includes the option of two one-year extensions.
The new, multi-year contract will see CSC managing seven separate legacy networks in addition to various next-generation technologies being deployed in a forthcoming network refresh. CSC will maintain all operationally critical network equipment including switch routers, wireless networks, and firewalls for Transport for NSW and its agencies.
Transport for NSW had embarked on a rigorous procurement process before extending its relationship with CSC. Our deep knowledge of the transport industry and ability to meet Transports core requirements around enhanced services and delivery quality were key factors in the final selection of CSC to support these vitally important operations, said Seelan Nayagam, managing director, CSC Australia & New Zealand.
The agreement also calls for CSC to manage all third-parties that provide service and carriage to Transport for NSW. Over the next six months CSC will facilitate this transition to achieve economies of scale and cost savings with one organisation overseeing and managing all services. This will be critical for the provision of connectivity with Transport for NSW end-users needing to access any business application from anywhere, at any time.
Transport for NSW has been a long standing client of UXCs since 1992. With CSCs recent acquisition of UXC, we are looking forward to helping Transport for NSW realise even further efficiencies with our combined capabilities, added Nayagam.
