GERMANY ready to endow 100 Million Euro in NAMIBIA

100 million euro for local infrastructure and a 150-megawatt power plant for the nation are only 2 goals specified by the 16-member business delegation from Germany who visited Namibia last week.

The delegation was head by the German-African Business Association to discover business opportunities in the nation.

Participating business leaders were majorly keen in industries like mining, energy, infrastructure, health care, automation, finance and security.

Amid the visit the German firm Gauff GmbH said it seeks to endow 100 million euro in Namibian infrastructure, while G.F.H. Im-und Export GmbH said it is all set to bring a second-hand 150 megawatt power plant to the nation.

A German-Namibian business seminar that took place a week ago where round-table sector sessions and also business-to-business meetings occurred.

The business seminars were addressed by the Deputy Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, Pieter van der Walt, who briefed the delegation on Namibia's conducive business environment.

Also, Deputy Minister of Works and Transport, James Sankwasa, gave inputs on few of the nation's infrastructure projects being bolstered by the German government.

The present status of energy projects and emerging opportunities, specifically in the renewable sector, was unveiled to the delegation by the Minister of Mines and Energy, Obed Kandjoze.

The delegation likewise took part in a dinner engagement with Sophia Swartz, Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Natural Resources of the National Assembly.
