Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed law No. 1078-VIII on amendments to the Law of Ukraine on Public Procurements to regulate the use of certain public funds on the territory of Donetsk region.

The law aims at ensuring the effective use of budget funds and state subsidies through the introduction of e-procurement of goods, works and services in Donetsk region.

The law amends Section 9 - "The Final and Transitional Provisions" of the Law on Public Procurements, as per which the Law on Public Procurements shall be applicable to procurements effected by local state administrations, local authorities and civil and military administrations on the territory of Donetsk region.

The signed law will become effective from the day following the date of its publication.
