India : BHEL activated a 500MW coal-fired power plant in JHARKHAND for DVC

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has accomplished the commissioning of a 500MW thermal unit in the State of Jharkhand.

With this, the State-owned power plant equipment manufacturer has added one more coal-fired power plant to the grid.

BHEL has commissioned the thermal unit at Bokaro Thermal Power-A Station of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) in Jharkhand.

The company has carried out the power project on the basis of Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) model.

BHEL has delivered 84% of DVCs overall installed coal-based power generating capacity, including the latest one.

Currently 500/520 MW rating class of BHEL is recognized as the backbone of the power industry of India, with performance surpassing the national average and international standards significantly.

The Indian PSU giant has already supplied higher rated units like 600MW, 660MW, 700MW and 800MW thermal sets with a high amount of localization, ensuring a secured place in its own sector.

BHEL has supplied 87% of the overall installed power generating capacity of Jharkhand.

Besides, the company is now carrying out a supercritical project with a rating of 3x660 MW at North Karanpura in the State for NTPC.

The BHEL shares stood at Rs.126.75 in the BSE during the closure of the trading session, up from the previous closing figure of Rs. 122.85. Overall 830348 shares were traded during the day involving more than 6335 trades.

The stock touched an intraday high and intraday low of respectively Rs. 127.4 and Rs 120.6, with a net turnover of Rs. 103017572 recorded for the trading session.
