Denmark,Finland,Norway,Sweden : HELSINKI ready to sign a deal for joint procurement of defense items with Nordic Nations
Publish Date : 12-May-2016
The Government of Finland on Monday (May 9, 2016) will accomplish the signing of an agreement with the Nordic countries in order to have a comprehensive framework and processes for the procurement of defense products in a joint manner.
The agreement to be signed is connected to the pact settled between Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in 2015 for the defense sector collaboration.
The previous agreement is intended for cooperation among the signatory nations in the defense materiel space and for attending to the necessity to facilitate low-cost, secured delivery and better implementation of joint procurement systems.
Agreement will be signed on the inaugural day of the three-day Nordic Defense Industry Seminar in Helsinki, to take place between Monday and Wednesday, and an event to exhibit the defense products manufactured by the sector players of the Nordic countries.
The Finnish Defense Ministry has revealed that the Director General of the Resource Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense Raimo Jyvasjarvi will sign the agreement on behalf of the country.
