Raytheon has won a $76.1 million contract from the U.S. Navy for the procurement of long lead materials to produce the maiden block of anti-ship missile defense systems for the service branch and foreign customers.
The Defense Department said, the long lead materials will support the manufacturing of Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles for financial years 2016, 2017 and 2018 for the Navy as well as Australia, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands and Norway under the NATO Sea Sparrow Consortium.
The Naval Sea Systems Command acts as the contracting activity and obligated the contract's entire amount at the time of award from the Navy's financial 2016 weapons procurement, foreign military sales and global funds.
Raytheon will conduct manufacturing in Germany, Norway, Australia and Denmark and in Arizona, California, Ohio and Texas through May 2018.
