The BMRC is set to float tenders to provide space to start-ups at large metro stations of city.

The idea has been was being brainstormed over for a while but was not taken up due to the lesser footfalls at the stations.

However, with the sharp rise in terms of footfall, the idea has reached the solid stage with several investors approaching BMRC to use large metro station spaces to house start-ups.

A senior official of BMRC said certain stations have enough space that can be allowed to given to start-ups for for commercial operations.

Earlier, they wouldn't have received good rentals due to the inadequate footfall. However, investors or mentors of these start-ups are now keener about it.

The official added this is entirely for commercial purpose wherein the investors are studying the feasibility of their projects and are the decision makers of whether to move ahead with or not.
