Kuwait,Turkey : Limak Construction to build new terminal at Kuwait International Airport

Publish Date : 01-Jun-2016

Turkey's Limak Construction has inked a deal for the construction of new terminal at Kuwait International Airport.

The deal has been signed nine months after reports first emerged that it had won the project, and over 18 months after reports said that all initial bids were rejected.

An arm of the Limak Holding group, the company, filed a bid of US$4.34 billion to implenment the project and was told by Kuwaiti central tenders committee last August that its bid was the lowest.

Once it is completed, the new passenger terminal will be capable of handling 25 million passengers per year. It will also be able to handle all aircraft types through 51 new gates and stands. The Foster + Partners-designed terminal would be completed in six years, but Limak's deal also includes a further two-year maintenance contract.
