At the Ministry of Transport and Communication on May 26 between the Ministry and Chinese company "Sinohydro Corporation Limited" a contract was signed with a total amount of $ 59.995.938,46.
First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Arthur Araqelyan and Vice President of Eurasian Branch of "Sinohydro Corporation Limited" Liu Shaoquan signed the document. The contract relates to the construction of 18.7 km long segment of Talin-Lanjik of Tranche 3 road implemented in the framework of "North -South Road Corridor Construction Investment Program" financed by the Eurasian Development Bank".
Six reputable construction companies participated in the tender. The Chinese company "Sinohydro Corporation Limited" won the tender due to the lowest cost and technical sufficiency.
Greeting the delegation of the winner company, at the signing ceremony the RA Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Arthur Araqelyan particularly noted "I'm sure that we will again gather at the end of the contract terms and will congratulate each other on successful termination of the work".
The Vice President of "Sinohydro Corporation Limited" Liu Shaoquan assured that the work will be completed within the time stipulated by the contract, at the beginning of 2018 and with high quality. "Thank you for the opportunity you gave us to participate in this important business. Our company ranks high among the Chinese construction companies. We're sure we'll have the result stipulated by the contract".
It should be reminded that the aim of the "North-South Road Corridor Investment Program" is the reconstruction of the 560 km long second-category highway from Bavra (Georgian border) to Agarak (Iranian border) allowing an average speed of 60 km p/h and making it a first-category 470 km long speedway at an average speed of 100-110 km p/h in the result of which the crossing time of the mentioned segment will be reduced to 4,5 hours instead of the present 9-9,5 hours and will promote safety and usability and fulfill the objective of making it a transit road for cargo transportations transport movement from east to west. This project is one of the important parts of the international "TRACECA" and "Silk Way projects.
