Publish Date : 01-Jul-2016
Implant Sciences Corporation has won a Canadian Air Transport Security Authority contract for supply of around 340 of its QS-B220 desktop explosive trace detectors.
Over a period of next two years, the systems will be deployed in Canadian airports for passenger and baggage screening.
Additionally, Implant Sciences deals in production of explosives detection systems for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
According to the company, this latest order is in addition to a successful bid for 112 of the systems for Canada in 2015, the company said.
In the past year, the detection system has been deployed at nearly 160 airports.
A desktop system QS-B220 uses Ion Mobility Spectrometry to rapidly detect and identify trace amounts of military, commercial and homemade explosives.
