Publish Date : 17-Dec-2009
State-owned passenger train operator Elektriraudtee plans to procure billions worth of new trains in the next few years, but instead of ordering it from Estonian engineering companies is looking for foreign manufacturers.
\"Estonia has all the capacity you need to assemble trains. We have a technical university and engineers. BLT Grupp could weld wagons, Estel Plus manufacture electronics and Aeston is already refurnishing wagon interior,\" says Oleg Ossinovski who has extensive experience in the rail business.
Among others, Ossinosvki owns Skinest Rail that itself owns Daugavpils Locomotive Repair Factory in Latvia and Krjukov Wagon Plant in Ukraine.
