Saudi Arabia : Al-Haramain train project to operate on electrical energy

Publish Date : 12-Jul-2016

In a bid to achieve the project's operational and economic feasibility, the Al-Haramain train project will be run by electrical power instead of nuclear or magnetic energy.

The use of the more feasible electric energy in the project will be based on several controls and standards, stressing the fact that there are several hazards that would hinder the economic feasibility of operating trains using nuclear or magnetic energy.

After the study of all options and alternatives, it was seen that running the train project using electrical power is the best feasible alternative in terms of operational and economic aspects.

The high temperatures of some of the regions of the train track is the key constraint facing the use of nuclear or magnetic energy.
