The Government of the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh, in a bid to promote marine education and technology in the State, has joined forces with the Russian State Marine Technical University.
The State Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, moving further on this strategy, has accomplished the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Russian university at St. Petersburg in the Russian Federation.
Issuing an official statement, the Andhra Pradesh Government has disclosed that the newly signed MoU with the State Marine Technical University of Russia, which works in close association with major defence firms with focus on the marine systems and technology such as United Shipbuilding Corporation and Rosoboronexport, will be beneficial for the marine industry of Andhra Pradesh as well the country as a whole.
The United Shipbuilding Corporation President Rakhmanov Alexey has stated that they are mulling over the plan of opening their headquarters in Andhra Pradesh, a distinctive State relating to the marine sector operations.
The Andhra Pradesh CM has stressed that the main goal of his administration is to push inland navigation and commercial usage of water transport in the State as it is more affordable over other systems of transportation.
Naidu has further said that the State Government has already adopted measures in order to facilitate Andhra Pradesh turn into the countrys logistics hub in future.
