India : INDIAN cos secures solar deals in Rajasthan tender

In a January tender, the winning offers in a 130-MW solar tender in the Indian state of Rajasthan decreased to INR 4.35 (USD 0.065/EUR 0.058) and INR 4.36 per kWh, which is very close to the record-low bid of INR 4.34/kWh.

Mahindra Susten, which is part of Indias Mahindra Group, has bagged 60 MW in the tender, and Shapoorji Pallonji Infrastructure Capital won 50 MW. Both provided INR 4.35/kWh.

The remaining 20 MW was received by Prayatna Developers of the Adani Group with an INR-4.36/kWh bid.

Fortum Finnsurya Energy has received a 70-MW project Rajasthan in January, with a bid of INR 4.34 per kWh. At that tender, the land for the solar park was available at the Bhadla Solar Park in Jodhpur district, while the latest competition included no such advantages. Among the bidders were Fortum, providing INR 4.55/kWh.

India had 5.8 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in March, comprising around 1.3 GW in Rajasthan.
