United States : Yahoo to sell for $4.8B

Publish Date : 26-Jul-2016

Verizon is said to have announced a deal to acquire Yahoo, for around $4.8 Billion.

The deal, which is said to have been announced before the markets open, will also radically change the path of Yahoo's future, which has seen its fair share of failed reeconstructions by several other owners.

According to a source, Verizon, has won the rival bid against the likes of private equity firm TPG, a group led by Quicken Loans' Dan Gilbert, not to mention AT&T.

Verizon already paid a huge amount last year when acquiring AOL and the company sees this as a chance to bolster the telco's advertising and content offerings.

As such, Yahoo's Brightroll technology will be the primary focus point by Verizion with potential elements from the firm's Maven's product.
