The U.S. Navy's electronic platform for the procurement of support services, Seaport-e, has offered a defense contract to Esri for its unique geographic information system (GIS) technology services.
SeaPort-e offers a standardized, effective way of soliciting services and support from businesses of all sizes.
Simplifying the procurement process for the federal government, this indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, facilitates multiple task orders for customers without forcing businesses to recompete. The SeaPort-e platform procures support services in 22 functional areas and conducts rolling admissions to promote small enterprise participation. Almost 85% of SeaPort-e's contract holders include small enterprises.
Esri partnered with team members of nine small enterprises Aerial Information Systems; APEX Expert Solutions LLC; Geographic Information Services, Inc.; Lynker Technologies, LLC; Metron Incorporated; Orca Maritime, Inc.; Punctuate Systems, Inc.; T3W Business Solutions; and VSolvit LLCto take part in the contract.
All team members provide expertise that is complementary to Esri's support program.
Esri navy account executive Curt Hammill, said, "Our business model is to team up with Esri partners to serve U.S. Navy customers. Our goal is to make them both successful. SeaPort-e gives us a new vehicle to do that."
