Ecuador,Korea Republic of : LSIS inks $9.1 million contract to build an electric substation in Ecuador

A South Korean electric power systems provider, LS Industrial Systems Co. (LSIS), has announced winning a $9.1 million contract for construction of a 230 kilovolt substation in Portoviejo, a western costal city in Ecuador.

The company inked the deal at the headquarters of Corporacion Electrica del Ecuador (Celec EP), the South American countrys state-owned electricity provider, in the capital city of Quito.

The attendees included Seo Jeong-min, head of overseas electric transmission business at LSIS, and Luis Ruales Corrales, head of Celec EP.

LSIS said, the substation project depends upon investment by Inter-American Development Bank.

As per the contract, LSIS will be responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPC). Completion of the project is expected by November 2017.
