India : BHEL lands 30 MW Solar PV Power Plants order

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has bagged an order worth Rs 169 crores to establish 30 MW (310 MW) of Solar Photovoltaic Power Plants on engineering, procurement and construction basis from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Corporation.
The SPV plants will be of 10 MW each and will come up at Mejia in Bankura district, Santaldih in Purulia and Chharrah in Purulia in West Bengal.
Earlier in 2016, BHEL secured EPC orders from Neyveli Lignite Corporation and Bharat Electronics Limited for establishing a 65 MW SPV Power plant at Neyveli in Tamil Nadu and a 15 MW SPV Power Plant at Ordinance Factory Premises, Medak in Telangana which are currently under execution.
BHEL produces solar cells and modules at its Electronics Division unit in Bengaluru.
BHEL has established Solar Plants in different sites in India comprising the Lakshadweep Islands for island electrification.
