Publish Date : 01-Sep-2016
Under the Central Goverment's UJALA (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for all) program, post offices and JBVNL distributed more than 70 lakh 9W LED bulbs across 12 centres in the state.
The efficient domestic lighting is among the major contributors to energy savings. The distribution has resulted in a daily savings of over 24.9 lakh kWh, which can power over 1.8 lakh homes for a year. The distribution also helps reduce CO2 emission.
To seek immediate replacement, customers can show their faulty LED bulb with the UJALA or DELP logo at the distribution counters. The program, is being executed by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), and has been accepted across rural and urban areas.
The company said, "At EESL, quality control measures are followed during and after the process of procurement to ensure that the bulbs match the bid specificationsWe procure LED bulbs from leading manufacturers who adhere to the stringent rules of the transparent bidding process."
