Oman : OMAN's Galfar secures $157m Duqm fisheries port contract

Oman's Galfar Engineering and Construction has won a contract to construct a fisheries port and related marine and road works in Duqm.
The contract worth RO60.69 million ($157 million) was awarded by the Special Economic Zone Authority, Duqm (Sezad).
This contract is for a period of 30 months, in addition to six months for mobilisation.
"We expect reasonable income from this project," Dr Hans Erlings, chief executive officer of the company, said.
In January 2016, Sezad had announced the tender, inviting local and international contractors. Under this contract, marine work includes dredging, reclamation, breakwaters, quay walls and concrete floating pontoons with berthing facilities, navigation aids, complete with ancillary works.
