United States : Vigor Marine secures $36.5 million Navy deal

Vigor Marine, LLC, Portland, OR, has won a $36,592,389 firm-fixed price contract to carry out repair and modernization work to support a Chief of Naval Operations Availability and also fiscal 2016 Drydocking Selected Restricted Availability for USS Gridley.

Work include modernization ship alterations, blasting, painting, and surface preparation for complete or touch-up preservation of the underwater hull, freeboard, struts, rudders, running gear, ground tackle, and sea-chest, and even various interior tanks, various ship alterations and repairs.

As per this contract, out of the total work, 80% will be carried out at Vigor Shipyard, Inc. in Seattle, WA and 20% at Naval Station Everett in Everett, WA. Completion of work is expected by March 2017.

At the time of award, Fiscal 2016 operation and maintenance (Navy), fiscal 2016 other procurement (Navy) and fiscal 2016 working capital (Navy) funding in the amount of $36,592,389 will be obligated. Funds are set for expiry at the end of the current fiscal year.

This contract was entirely procured through the Federal Business Opportunities website, with two offers received.

The contracting activity is the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Bremerton, Washington.
