Philippines : Tadeco to invest over P2B in aggressive bid to expand
Publish Date : 07-Sep-2016
In its "aggressive" bid to expand, the Davao-based owner of the largest contiguous banana plantation in the world, Tagum Development Corp. (Tadeco), plans to invest over P2 billion to boost its production amid optimism over the new administration.
An official of the company said Tadeco, the flagship firm of the ANFLOCOR Group of Companies, is now exploring investment prospects outside Panabo City, where its 7,500-hectares of banana plantation is sited.
A senior official of ANFLOCOR said the company's banana expansion program has so far reached a commitment worth P1.5 billion.
He added that Phase I of the company's new pineapple project will cost P1.2 billion, an investment in a very depressed and poor area in Mindanao.
