Publish Date : 14-Sep-2016
Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has awarded the automatic fare collection (AFC) work package for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line to Spain-listed Indra Sistemas and Rasma Corp Consortium. The deal is worth RM152.9 million.
According to MRT Corp, the Work Package SSP-SY-207 is for the engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of the AFC. Indra Sistemas owns 80% and local firm Rasma Corp own 20% stake in the consortium. MRT Corp CEO Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar said, the AFC is a very crucial component in the construction of the SSP Line.
He added, Todays award is significant as it marks another step forward in the development of the Klang Valley MRT Projects second MRT line. Also, this is the last of the seven systems work packages to be successfully awarded for the SSP Line.
According to Shahril, the basis to select the successful tenderer is the Best Evaluated Tender, which includes the technical as well as commercial scores. In regards with this, the successful tender need not necessary be that with the lowest price. However, I am pleased to say that for this tender, the successful tenderer also quoted the lowest price, he said.
The AFC system features all software to include all necessary licenses, fare medias, AFC central computer, station accounting computers, automatic fare gates, ticket vending machines, office ticket processor, cash handling system and other associated works. Integration of the system will be done with the Integrated Cashless Payment System for the Klang Valleys public transport system.
