Israel : Israel to conduct PPP tender for up to 500 MW solar project

Israel is to conduct a tender process for a solar project of up to 500 MW to be built near the city of Dimona in the Negev desert, said the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
The tender winner will be building the solar photovoltaic (PV) complex under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. It will even design, finance, build, operate and maintain the power generation capacity for a defined period. After that the assets will be state-owned.
According to the ministry, further details on the pre-qualification round will be available during the coming months.
Meanwhile, the MoF have stated that 10 companies have pre-qualified to compete in a tender, which will take place in the fourth quarter of 2016, for a 40-MW solar project in near Ashalim in Negev.
