Saudi KAD, a company delivering engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services, has been successful to secure strategic pipeline projects from the Saudi Arabian oil & gas major Saudi Aramco.

The EPC firm, working as preferred contractor of Saudi Aramco, will carry out a number of strategically crucial pipeline projects as part of the Master Gas scheme Phase II and the Fadhili Gas scheme.

The EPC work and commissioning of an 1118km pipeline network are envisioned in the contracts.

Once operational, the pipelines will facilitate Saudi Aramco to increase its capacity to supply gas to power generation facilities and petrochemical plants throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a considerable way. The work will also comprise EPC jobs for valve stations, as well as metering systems, launcher and receiver stations, fiber optic cables, plus road and rail crossings.

The pipeline will be of different sizes and the largest one will have a diameter of 56 in. The capacity of Saudi Aramcos Master Gas system will be augmented to 12.5 billion ft3/d after the accomplishment of the project due for 2018.

Commenting on the new contract win, Chairman of Saudi KAD Ahmad Al-Jabr stated, "We are deeply honored by the trust placed in Saudi KAD by Saudi Aramco's award of these strategic projects.

Saudi KAD will reciprocate this trust through meeting every commitment on the awarded projects, and continuing to pursue our aggressive localization agenda."

This is not Saudi KADs first project with Saudi Aramco as the EPC giant has already started work on the latters Onshore Maintain Potential venture.
