Afghanistan : Minister of Finance Sings USD 100 Million with USAID

H.E. Eklil Hakimi the Minister of Finance signed a grant agreement worth USD 100 million with Mr. William Hammink US Administrator for in presence of US Ambassador to Afghanistan and Donald L Larry, Senior Advisor of USAID under New Development Partnership on 26 September in Presidential Palace.
Afghan Government was able to achieve reforms for its priorities and self-reliance strategic vision. In result of these reforms, Afghan Government achieved USD 300 million so far from USAID USD 800 million that was committed by USA under New Development Partnership.
This fund will be channel to Afghanistans National Budget and will be spent on national priority programs.
The NDP has forty (40) Results with the total budget of $800 million; USAID will release $20 million on achievement of each of the NDP Result.
In 2015, the GoA has achieved 9 indicators in the areas of banking, civil aviation, revenue mobilizations, procurement, transparency and budget reform. As a result, the GoA has received $180million in two tranches.
The New Development Partnership is a program of the Government Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GoA) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) aims to incentivize development results. Agreed between the GoA and USAID on 26th August 2015, the program will continue until 2018.
