An Alstom and Bombardier group is the sole bidder for an EUR 3B contract to supply passenger trains.

This comes after French rail operator SNCF told trainmaker CAF that it is not in the race.

An SNCF officail said the tender process was underway.

He added that a final decision to supply the 270 trains to serve the Paris region would be made by the end of 2016.
