At the Pack Expo held recently in Chicago, Aaron Equipment Company-owned AEK Packaging Equipment has announced it will move to a standalone, high-tech plant in Belvidere, Illinois, by January 1, 2017.

Established in 2009, AEK provides over 60 types of used processing and packaging equipment for the food industry, like can seamers and case packers.

The firm said over 30% of its equipment handles bakery and snack products such as salty snacks, pastries, bread, crackers, pizza, granola and nutrition bars.

Sited west of the Chicago area on Interstate 90, the new climate-controlled facility, will benefit AEK customers by providing much larger inventory, along with a showroom and space to cycle-test all used packaging equipment it procures.

The company saisd, "Customers will continue to work with their same AEK sales associate, and AEK' relationship with its parent company will be unaffected by the relocation."
