Development group ETBA BIPE and breakbulk company Goldair Cargo have won approval from Greek rail firm GAIAOSE to build and operate a 59 hectare logistics center on land it owns in Thriaseio.

Backed by the Piraeus Bank, the group has hired Goldair as the temporary contractor for the project. The freight center will be sited Thriaseio, western Attica.

Kallinikos Kallinikos, executive president at Goldair Group said, "A 14-year-long effort of our group appears to be coming to a successful conclusion. We expect our investment to spark the further investment of the Greek logistics industry."

The tender released by GAIAOSE received just a single bid and is worth EUR 10 million. The concession process would be completed in H1-2017.
