Indian firm Sterling & Wilson Ltd has announced winning an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for 170-MW of solar projects in Morocco won by ACWA Power and partners.

According to an announcement in November, the Saudi Arabian project developer and its partners bid MAD 0.4614 (USD 0.046/EUR 0.043) per kWh and secured the contracts for construction and operations at three parks -- the 70-MW NOOR Ouarzazate IV, the 80-MW NOOR Laayoune, and the 20-MW NOOR Boujdour.

Sterling said, the construction is scheduled to begin soon, with completion expected to take around 12 months.

Bikesh Ogra, president Renewable & Electrical at the Indian company, said, Morocco has been one of our most important target markets and these projects would hopefully enable us to consolidate our positioning for all forthcoming opportunities in the country and the region as a whole.
