United States : Black Construction Awarded $97 Million Guam International Airport Contract

Tutor Perini Corporation a leading civil and building construction company, today announced that its Guam-based subsidiary, Black Construction Corp., has been awarded a contract valued at approximately $97 million by the Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport Authority (GIAA) for the Terminal Building Structural Upgrade and Concourse Isolation Construction.

The scope of work for the project includes an isolation corridor to be constructed as the 3rd floor over the existing concourse. This corridor will require seismic retrofit and modifications to the main structure. Eight additional arrival pods will also be constructed as part of the basic bid. Significant interior upgrades to the architectural, mechanical and electrical systems are also part of the scope. These new features will allow arriving passengers to view Tumon Bay and the Pacific Ocean upon their arrival. This is one of GIAAs largest project to date, which will improve and enhance the travelers experience throughout the airports facilities.

Construction is expected to begin in March 2017 and substantial completion is anticipated in August 2019. The Company expects the value of this contract to be included as part of its reported fourth-quarter 2016 backlog.
