Denmark,Sweden : Swedish energy group signs concession deals for 950 MW of Danish offshore wind

Publish Date : 28-Dec-2016

Sweden's state-owned energy group Vattenfall AB has signed concession deals for the 600-MW Kriegers Flak offshore wind park in Danish waters and for two nearshore projects aggregating 350 MW.

Vattenfall and the Denmark's Minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate, Lars Lilleholt, inked the deals after the Danish parliament unanimously adopted the bill deciding the subsidies for the three wind parks.

The Swedish company secured the tender to build the Kriegers Flak plant in the Baltic Sea in November with a record low bid of nearly EUR 49.9 (USD 52.2) per MWh. It would invest from EUR 1.1 billion to EUR 1.3 billion in the project.

In September, the firm also secured a tender for the two coastal wind farms, one of 180 MW at Vesterhav Syd and one of 170 MW capacity at Vesterhav Nord. It has now inked deals for those two wind projects as well.

Vattenfall would invest nearly EUR 740 in the nearshore schemes.
