Pakistan : Punjab Govt., Huawei partner to launch e-healthcare, e-education pilot projects

The Punjab Government will partner with Huawei Technologies Pakistan (Pvt) Limited to launch e-healthcare and e-education pilot projects in the province.

A ceremony to sign the agreement towards this end was held at P&D Lahore.

Under the Chairmanship of Chairman Planning and Development Punjab Jahanzeb Khan, Secretary Specialized Healthcare Punjab Najam Ali Shah, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Care Ali Jan and Huawei Chief Executive Officer Saif-Chi jointly inked the agreement.

Speaking at the event, Jahanzeb Khan, said, "Huawei Technologies Company has agreed to set-up e-services pilot projects in four hospitals, one university, one college, one high school and one elementary school free of cost in Punjab as its pilot projects."

Huawei will provide technical & development support to execute Huawei E-Education and E-Health pilot projects in Punjab.

Saif-Chi said that Huawei Technologies Company is already involved with Punjab Government to enhance the the province's development industries.

Hospitals like Children Hospital Lahore, DH Muzaffargarh, TH Hospital Gojra and Rural Health Centers at Khanqah Dogran Sheikhupura will receive technical aid in healthcare solutions.

Under the deal, a smart E-Class Room will be set up at the I.T University Lahore as well in order to promote interactive learning and enable students communicate with the scholars of other universities. Other organizations to receive these services include Directorate of Staff Development Lahore, Government High School Raiwind Lahore and Government College of Elementary Teachers, Multan.
