Bechtels plant machinery company is in receipt of a $303.1 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, sole-source contract to provide nuclear propulsion components to the U.S. Navy.
According to the Defense Department, under the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program, Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. will be executing work in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Schenectady, New York.
At the time of award, the Navy will obligate $205.4 million from the military branchs fiscal 2016 shipbuilding and conversion funds and fiscal 2017 other procurement funds.
At present, Bechtel operates two laboratories and an engineering for, which carry out research, development, design, acquisition management, reactor operator training and spent-fuel management for the Navy.
