India : DMRC seeks to extend Pettah-Thripunithura metro's contractual period

Publish Date : 03-Jan-2017

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has in a letter to KMRL, sought to extend the contractual period to take the metro to Pettah and from there to Thripunithura.

Just 18 km of the 25-km-long metro corridor would be ready by June this year, the agreement period to commission the project.

The contractual deal ends on 24th May, 2017.

The DMRC has invited bids for civil work on Maharaja's Ground-Ernakulam Junction railway station and Vyttila Kunnara Park-Pettah stretches.

The DMRC has invited the tenders with the extra option of extending the viaduct up to SN Junction at Thripunithura.

Agency source attributed its inability to undertake work up to Pettah due to the delay in land procurement.
