Virgin Islands (U.S.) : Tenders Invited For Solid Waste Collections

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the collection of solid waste demarcated throughout the Territory as it is continues to ensure the timely collection, disposal and where possible recycling of waste.

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said the proposed works is comprised of collecting solid waste by the following boundaries in Tortola: Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4, Zone 5, Zone 6; North Sound and Valley, Virgin Gorda; Jost Van Dyke and Anegada for a period of two years.

Interested tenderers are required to provide proof of possession of the vehicle(s) required for the job, by submitting a copy of Vehicle Registration or Insurance Policy; or proof of the ability to finance acquisitions of the equipment required for the job and an invoice for the vehicle.

Tenderers are also expected to submit details regarding experience in the type of works to be carried out and a breakdown of cost for carrying out the services. Tenderers must also submit a valid trade license; certificates of good standing from the Director of the Social Security Board, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and the Commercial Registry.

Tender documents are available upon request from the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit) RFG Place, Third Floor, Waterfront Drive. Tender documents are available from Monday, February 6.

A non-refundable fee of $100.00 payable by cash or bank cashiers cheque (payable to the Accountant General) is required for the tender documents. Interested tenderers should submit one original and two copies of the tender and all tenders must be deposited in the tender box at the Procurement Unit by the bearer not later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. Tenders will be publicly opened at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit) on Tuesday, February 28, at 12 noon. Tenderers are invited to attend.
