Philippines : LGU Tagum inaugurates major infra projects

The City Government of Tagum took a giant leap in the month of January with the inauguration of multi-million infrastructure projects in four major clusters road, drainage, public facilities and school infrastructures, in its bid to expand the citys industrial growth and strengthen its investment viability. Mayor Allan Rellon led the blessing of the infra projects in three different days, together with the different task force groups that the mayor has created with the directed to devise and execute infra projects to bolster the economic status of the city as well as satisfy its industrial necessities. For the construction of public buildings and facilities, which include Multi-Purpose Buildings, Purok Centers, Public Comport Rooms and a Lying-in Paanakan Center, the city government spent at least P1,350,000. The constructions of these public infrastructures started on the third and fourth quarters of 2016 and were formally inaugurated last January 10, 2017.

School infrastructures, meanwhile, exhausted P12,488,106 for its construction which benefitted four public schools in Tagum City, namely - La Filipina National High School, Visayan Village Central Elementary School, Tagum City Trade School and Apokon Elementary School. These schools infra projects are comprised of school buildings (classrooms), a multi-purpose stage and other school structures. Following the blessing of school infrastructures is the inauguration of road projects which have an aggregate value of 4,766, 723 pesos. Six (6) barangays took advantage of the asphalting and concreting projects that covered at least 1,405 linear meters of road. On the other hand, the local government poured in P3,150,000 for the construction and rehabilitation of various drainage systems in the city, covering almost 1,160 meters of canals and waterways. Inaugurated together with the drainage projects is the 8-meter foot bridge at Brgy.

San Miguel that is pegged at the cost of P300,000. Collectively, the LGU Tagum spent a totals of P19,954,829 for the construction of these major infrastructure projects. Mayor Rellon said that the inauguration of these projects is just the kickoff of the city governments calendar of more project implementation. He also gave credits to the six (6) infrastructure development task force groups the LGU has institutionalized for accomplishing a remarkable record in terms of effective and efficient project implementation. These groups are the Road Infra Development Task Force, School Infra Development Task Force, Public Building and Facilities Infra Development Task Force, Drainage Infra Development Task Force, Patubig Infra Task Force and Kahayag Kahapsay Infra Development Task Force.
