Armenia : 17 Armenian Companies of the IT sector will leave for London

On the 9-10th of March, 2017, meetings of 17 Armenian companies of the IT sector and representatives of business institutions will be held in London in the framework of the project Armenian-British IT Initiatives, aiming at finding cooperation grounds on site.
In order to introduce the program to the public, a meeting with mass media has been held today, which was attended by Mr. Boris Demirkhanyan, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia, H.E. Mrs. Judith Margareth Farnworth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UK and IT specialists.
Upon highlighting the importance of holding similar events, Mr. Boris Demirkhanyan, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies mentioned that it was a wide platform for expanding the scopes of cooperation in the field of information technologies and business relations. He expressed hope that the events of similar format would be continuous and would be held not only in the UK, but also in Armenia.
In the result joint projects will be born, which are important not only in terms of business development, but also cultural exchange between the two countries. I am confident that the 17 companies will introduce the Armenian IT sector in the best way. I am also sure that there are hidden resources that would be uncovered in the result coming off the project,-the Deputy Minister said.
H.E. Mrs. Judith Margareth Farnworth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UK mentioned that the field of information technologies and telecommunication has a large share in the economy of Armenia. He stressed out that one of the priorities of the British Embassy in Yerevan is the expansion of stronger and mutually beneficial economic and trade relations between Armenia and the UK.
The business event Armenian-British IT Initiatives to be held in London will consist of two main parts: a presentation on Armenia and Armenian IT companies and individual meetings between the representatives of the Armenian IT companies and British business institutions.
