United Kingdom : JOTA AVIATION inks LoI for an Avro RJ100 Regional Jet with FALKO REGIONAL AIRCRAFT
Publish Date : 04-Apr-2017
The London Southend Airport-based independently owned ACMI charter airline Jota Aviation has accomplished the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the leasing firm Falko Regional Aircraft for the procurement of an Avro RJ100 regional aircraft.
The jet is slated to land at the London base of Jota Aviation by late April to join the existing Avro RJ85 and BAe 146-200 fleet of the company.
The MD of Jota Aviation Andy Green commented, We are delighted to have identified a highly suitable aircraft and the Jota Group will be purchasing the jet from Falko later next month.
The company has planned to re-register the aircraft, the ex-Brussels Airlines jet (serial number: E3355), to operate under the G register as G-JOTS.
In an earlier announcement, Jota Aviation has revealed its strategy of further expansion of the fleet, with a dedicated freight aircraft variant as well.
Jota Aviation will carry out a maintenance check at Avalon Aero in Cranfield Airport and do a full repaint job to put the Jota livery on the aircraft prior to starting its service, scheduled for May this year. The aircraft will be pressed into service with a configuration of 97 seats, arranged in a five side-by-side layout.
The Head of Commercial at Jota Aviation Mike Sessions stated, Its arrival will be well timed for the summer period when the legacy carriers get busier and tend to depend on sub charter, short term leases.
