Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB) Dr. Bander Bin Mohamed Hamza Hajjar has visited the site of a mega project being set up on the Bou Regreg Riverbanks with support from the Riyadh-based donor agency.
The project on the banks of the Bou Regreg River, which divides the Moroccan capital from its neighboring city of Sal, is being carried out by Marita Group.
Covering an area of more than 160 square meters, the project will feature a large businesses center, as well as tourism complexes, hotels, restaurants, amusement parks, and medical clinics.
During his trip to the project site, Dr. Hajjar has been updated by the Marita Group management on the progress recorded so far, which the firm has been implementing for the last couple of months with the IDBs financial support.
The IDB has entered into the Moroccan private sector with this mega project in Rabat.
The new project, inspired by Andalusian attributes, represents a blend of modern as well as innovative and traditional architectural features of Morocco.
The IDB Chairman has made a personal trip to the construction site to ensure fulfillment of the green rules and all set standards for the conservation and protection of the environment.
Marita Group hopes to accomplish the mega project in Rabat within the next two years. According to the project engineers, the development will add to the architectural and other attractions in another part of the capital city and the project will join other key developments underway in Rabat intended for bolstering the Moroccan capitals reputation in the country for its rich cultural background and advancement.
The Moroccan Premier Saadeddine Othmani has welcomed Dr. Hajjar at his capital city-based office and carried out talks on key issues.
